Our Story
What began as a personal mission by Mr. Setu Shah — a visionary with deep roots in real estate and a heart for sustainability — has grown into Sujalaam, a collective effort dedicated to transforming how we use and replenish water. Since 2008, under the mentorship of Sr. Hydrogeologist Mr. R.N Shukla he pioneered the concept of engineered recharge wells and customised water management systems before sustainability became a buzzword.
With the newly formed partnership between Dev Shah, Setu Shah, and Shail Shah in 2024, Sujalaam entered a new phase of growth ‘‘Sujalaam Sustainability LLP’’ —strengthening its vision, expanding its technical capabilities, and scaling its operations to become a truly water-positive and full-scale water-sustainability enterprise. From corporate campuses to remote villages, Sujalaam proves that sustainability is not an option — it is an evolution.

A pioneer in water conservation and sustainability, Setu Shah leads Sujalaam’s vision of ‘aatmaNEERbharta’—enabling communities to achieve self-reliance in water management. With expertise in water security planning, rainwater harvesting, and hydrological studies, Setu works to address critical water challenges across Bhaarat. Guided by a strong commitment to a sustainable future, Setu develops practical, science-led solutions that inspire lasting, community-level impact.
R.N Shukla
Senior Hydrogeologist
With over 53 years of experience in water science and hydrogeology, R. N. Shukla stands as a pillar of knowledge and guidance at Sujalaam. Formerly the Superintending Geohydrologist at GWSSB, he has played a pivotal role in shaping Gujarat’s groundwater management and recharge strategies. Known for blending technical precision with community-based approaches, he continues to mentor Sujalaam’s projects, guiding them toward long-term water security and sustainable resource management.
Dev Shah
Business Partner
Dev Shah, a dynamic and ambitious graduate with a MSc. in International Business Management from the University of Westminster, London, brings a global and fresh perspective to Sujalaam. With a strong background in finance and business management, he drives operational management and strategic growth through thoughtful planning, innovative execution, and a clear focus on Sujalaam’s vision of scalable and sustainable water solutions.
Shail Shah

Rooted in environmental consciousness, Shail Shah bridges creativity with real-world impact at Sujalaam. With a strong background in filmmaking and on-site project experience, he plays a pivotal role in translating Sujalaam’s ideas into tangible outcomes. Responsible for implementation of sustainability projects across locations, ensuring precision, quality, and innovation at every stage. His ability to blend technical execution with creative insight makes him integral to Sujalaam’s mission.
